We have a couple of sub genres in hip hop. Maybe hundreds. Here’s a variety of them.

Mac Miller, Carnage, MadeInTyo

I was surprised to see these three working together — but satisfied with the result. Mac Miller has delivered great mixtapes and albums throughout the years. Even though he hasn’t been very active releasing new music recently, he exhibits on this track why he deserves a spot in the limelight. More than showing great quality through his music, Jay Z and Kendrick Lamar have both given Mac a shoutout as one of their own favourites.

Carnage released a fantastic EP last year with Young Thug. His talent for producing reaches new levels with each new track.

MadeinTYO has been mentioned before and is some kind of hypeman on this track with ad-libs and words here and there. Can’t complain.

Listen to Learn How To Watch.

Jay Rock

Jay Rock has been around for a long time. He worked with 2Pac. He’s one of those rapper that all major, legendary rappers want to work with without receiving any major radio plays. It’s a shame really, since Jay Rock has a spectacular discography. His latest album racked up some million of listens which is nice. He just announced his next album with this single with features from Kendrick Lamar, Future and James Blake.

Listen to King’s Dead now.

MoneyBagg Yo

I stumbled upon Moneybagg Yo when I was browsing through NBA YoungBoy on Spotify. He has a nice thing going on, this latest track sounds different to other stuff which is nice.

Listen to Trap Clickin.

Lil Skies

Lil Skies just released a new album. He’s a young, up and coming rapper who seems to have been born on Soundcloud. Listening through his album he sounds like all the ”Soundcloud rappers” combined into one. Except this track where he takes a step from all that and experiments a little which proves successful. Let’s hope he keeps doing that compared to the utter shit that the rest of his album offered.

Listen to Cloudy Skies.
